This major international department store group are seeking a Category Development Manager for their Home department, overseeing space-planning and store development on the home area. The company are a huge force in multi-channel retailing, and with major investment and expansion underway, there is huge personal growth potential within the business. It’s an exciting time to join them right now – with extra headcount coming in to head office at a vital time. Responsible for the planning of home department space in existing and new stores, you would work closely with internal store development teams, project managers, retail and the buying function, planning fixtures and fittings, walkways and retail space set within certain timeframes. You would be able to analyse seasonal sales performance by space, working with Merchandising on what works well and what doesn’t. You will be a highly analytical operator who can liaise with all functions within Head Office and work to tight deadlines. You should be able to identify commercial opportunities by looking at producing new store fixture layouts as per company and Creative guidelines. You will have both a proactive approach to your work whilst reacting to seasonal and immediate trends within the business. Ultimately, your role will be to increase profit on the bottom line and this would be evident through your personal performance and company targets set. This is an immediate requirement and we can consider candidates from any retail background, however, experience on home would be an advantage as would working in a busy department store environment, although not essential.
